Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Naturopathic Medicine right for me?

    Absolutely.

Naturopathic Medicine is helpful in almost all health concerns because it is addressing the root of the issue. It is my job to help get you back to the foundations of health and remove the obstacles that are not allowing the innate healing process of the body to do it's job. Therefore, anyone walking through the door can benefit from naturopathic medicine.

Now, there may be situations where other types of medicine and referrals may be necessary. For example, if you break your arm, you will not come see me, a naturopathic doctor, but instead will go to the emergency room to get the arm set and a cast placed. It is after this that a patient will come see me to help during the healing process, to make sure optimal healing takes place.

Naturopathic medicine can help everyone and is often used with other treatments in order to create and optimize health.

  • What can I expect at the visits?

Initial visits are 1 hour and 30 minutes, and include thorough investigation of your medical history, lifestyle, stressors, diet, digestion, etc., in order to get a good picture of  all of the different factors that are contributing to your health because I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.  After this visit, I also go over any medical records you may have to get caught up on all  details of your medical history. This allows a full picture of your health, which will allow for a thorough treatment plan to be made.

For the follow up visits, we discuss how the previous treatment plan worked for you, how your symptoms are doing currently, and then update the treatment plan as necessary.

Labs are ordered at appointments when necessary and blood draws can be performed at the office.

  • Do you take insurance?

The clinic I work for will not bill insurance companies directly. You will pay the clinic upfront at the appointment, and then be provided with a "superbill" upon request. You can then provide to your insurance company and seek reimbursement from them directly.

Each insurance company is different, so if you have questions about what your insurance company will or will not reimburse, you will need to contact them directly.

Insurance usually can be used when running labs, imaging, or referrals to other providers that are covered by insurance.

HSA and FSA accounts can be used to pay for my services, specialized testing, etc.

    Payment plans are also available.

  • Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for your services?

    YES!

You can use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for your visits and services, lab tests, prescribed supplements, over-the-counter products, and other medically prescribed services (such as massages for low back pain) that may be necessary for your care.

  • Is a payment plan available?

    Yes!

You can develop a payment plan with AdventHealth (who I now work for).

  • Do you have online visits

Yes! There are separate options for both online and in-person visits. Just select the appropriate one while scheduling online.

  • Can you prescribe medications?

I can prescribe medications in Arizona currently.

Kansas does not allow me to prescribe medications at this time. The Kansas Naturopathic Doctor Association is trying to change this. If you would like to help us, go to https://kansasnd.org/advocacy#/133/qr-code, and sent a pre-written letter via the form to support expanding our rights.
